Raytown Middle School

 

Welcome to Raytown Middle School

The building that now houses Raytown Middle School was originally opened as Pittman Junior High during the 1964-1965 school year.  The building initially housed elementary students from Laurel Hills in 25 classrooms as construction at Laurel was completed.  In the fall of 1966, Pittman Panthers in grades 7 and 8 populated the school.  Finally in 1967 the building became a junior high with 7th-9th grade students, and Mr. Larry Folkins was the principal. Raytown Middle opened as a middle school for the 1981-1982 school year.

Raytown Schools prepares for the Great American Solar Eclipse
08/14/2017
On Monday, August 21, Raytown will be just outside of the path of totality of the Great American Solar Eclipse. While Raytown is just outside of the path of totality, students and staff will witness a partial solar eclipse with a magnitude of 0.999 or 99.96% of totality. The eclipse will begin at 11:42 a.m. reach its peak at 1:09 p.m. and partial totality will last for only 27 seconds.

Six Schools Receive Recognition for Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Implementation

Six Raytown C-2 School District schools were honored for their successful adoption and implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) during the annual Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Summer Training Institute held at the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri on Wednesday, June 14.
